Women's Lacrosse Positioned Second In CCC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With just one week remaining before the 2017 season gets underway, the Endicott women's lacrosse team was slotted second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll as announced yesterday by the conference office.

Endicott, last season's CCC Championship runner-up, received 69 points (two first place votes) heading into this season after posting a 8-10 overall record, which included a 6-2 showing in conference games.

Roger Williams was picked atop the poll as the Hawks earned 76 points and six first place votes. Western New England garnered third place with 61 points and the remaining first place vote, while the University of New England completed the top four with 60 points.

Gordon ranked No. 5 on the poll with 44 points and Salve Regina checked in at No. 6 with 32 points. Curry was positioned seventh overall (31 points), while Nichols (20 points) and Wentworth (10 points) rounded out the conference voting.

Endicott begins the 2017 campaign on Wednesday, March 1 against Wheaton in the 7:00 p.m. home opener at Hempstead Stadium.
