Rino, Dutchyshyn Take Home CCC Weekly Honors

Bella Rino and Meghan Dutchyshyn earn conference weekly awards.

CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Endicott's women's lacrosse sophomore goalie Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) and freshman attack Meghan Dutchyshyn (Cheshire, Conn.) were recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference's (CCC) Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week of March 20 to March 26, 2017 as announced today by the conference office.

CCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rino, a first-time CCC selection, earned her first collegiate win in her first collegiate start as Endicott opened conference play with 14-8 win over Roger Williams on Saturday. Rino made a career-high 10 saves (tied for game-high) and saved 59.3 percent of the total shots she faced this week. Rino also split a half against No. 15 Bowdoin on Wednesday and made a team-high six saves in the effort, allowing just three second half goals in the 14-5 defeat.

CCC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Dutchyshyn, now a two-time CCC Rookie of the Week honoree, dazzled again this week to lead the Gulls in scoring with six goals and two assists through two games. Dutchyshyn netted a career-high five goals (also game-high) and tallied one assist in Endicott's victory over the Hawks. Dutchyshyn is cureently Endicott's leader with 20 goals on the year (third-most amongst all CCC rookies) and is tied for the most points (24) on the squad.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (4-3, 1-0 CCC) returns to action on Wednesday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. when the Gulls will travel to Biddeford, Maine to take on the University of New England Nor'easters on the Big Blue Turf.
