Endicott Sweeps CCC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Bella Rino and Jennifer Lacroix earned CCC weekly honors as members of the Endicott women's lacrosse team.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Endicott's sophomore goalie Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.) made a clean sweep of the Commonwealth Coast Conference's (CCC) women's lacrosse weekly awards for the week of March 27 to April 2, 2017 as announced today by the conference office.

CCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rino, a two-time CCC selection, earned her second straight win in her second career start (2-0) as the reigning CCC Defensive Player of the Week. Rino made six saves and allowed just one goal in 36:54 minutes of action, including a first half shutout in the team's 18-11 road win at UNE on Wednesday. 

CCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER/ ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Lacroix, a first-time CCC honoree, sounded off for a career-high seven points to help Endicott defeat the the Nor'easters, 18-11.

Lacroix accounted for one-third of the Gulls' offensive output as she scored a six of Endicott's season-high 18 goals and won a game-high/career-high 10 draw controls to go alongside one assist and one caused turnover. Additionally, Lacroix's 10 draw controls is a new season-high for the Gulls so far this year, and ranks in a tie for fifth-most in a single game all-time for the Gulls.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (5-3, 2-0 CCC) returns to action this afternoon at Wentworth at 4:00 p.m. in Boston, Mass. in a makeup game postponed from Saturday's snowstorm.
