Second baseman \#Sarah Spaziano\# batted a perfect 1.000 (7-for-7) with two doubles, one home run, two RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base, as the Gulls rattled off three straight wins and claimed an eighth-straight TCCC Championship. During the TCCC Tournament, Spaziano collected two hits in a 5-2 win over Anna Maria, added two hits including a solo home run in a 2-0 victory over University of New England, and tallied three hits and an RBI-single in a 7-1 victory over Western New England in the TCCC Championship game.
\#Jenna Bortolotti\# was the winning pitcher in each of the Gulls’ three TCCC Tournament victories. Bortolotti, who went 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 16 strikeouts in the conference tournament, opened the TCCC Playoffs by allowing just one earned run on five hits in a 5-2 victory over Anna Maria. She followed that with a two-hit shutout in Endicott’s 2-0 triumph over the University of New England in the semifinals. In the 7-1 championship game victory over Western New England, Bortolotti allowed just one earned run on five hits. She held opposing batters to a .1598 batting average over the course of the tournament.
Freshman first baseman \#Nicole Devlin\# picked up a key RBI-double in the Gulls’ 7-1 victory over Western New England in the TCCC Championship game. In Endicott’s three-straight TCCC Tournament wins, Devlin batted .250 (2-for-8) with two RBI and a run scored.
The Blue and Green now await word for who they will play in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. First Round action begins on May 13th and the Regional sites wrap up on May 17th.
