WENHAM, Mass. – Late offensive outputs helped propel Endicott College to a pair of wins over cross-town rival Gordon College, 14-1 and 9-3, on Thursday afternoon in TCCC softball action played in Wenham. Endicott improves to 14-10 overall and 7-5 in league play while the Fighting Scots dip to 12-11 and 7-7 in the TCCC.

In Game 1, Endicott broke open a close game by exploding for 11 runs in the final two innings. The Gulls struck for four runs in the 6th and seven in the 7th.

The top of the Gulls batting order was particularly effective as \#Megan Downey\# (Ballston Lake, N.Y.), \#Jenna Lazar\# (Milton, Mass.), \#Merry MacDonald\# (Braintree, Mass.) and \#Ashley Wright\# (Merrimack, N.H.) combined for 10 hits.

Endicott had 16 hits as a team and pitcher \#Jenna Bortolotti\# (Milton, Mass.) allowed just three hits to Gordon. Freshman second baseman Sarah Quint drove in the only run for the Scots.

The Gulls seized control of game two in the top half of the first inning with four consecutive hits, plating three runs. Endicott went up 4-0 in the top of the 3rd when \#Merry MacDonald\# singled, stole second base, and was eventually driven in on a sacrifice fly by \#Katherine McGann\# (Topsfield, Mass.).

Gordon answered back in the 3rd and 4th innings, scoring once on an RBI double from Courtney Stevenson, and taking advantage of an Endicott fielding miscue to score two more runs in the 4th.

Leading just 4-3, Endicott tacked on a run in the top of the 5th, and scored four 2-out runs in the 7th, capped off by an RBI double from \#Byrne Katz\# (Trumbell, Conn.). Once again, the top four hitters for the Gulls provided most of the offense, as the group combined for nine of Endicott's 11 hits.

Bortolotti came in relief in the 4th inning and picked up her second win of the doubleheader.

Elisabeth Cheesman and Sarah Quint both had two hits apiece for Gordon. Emily Borden went the distance as the Scots' pitcher, scattering 11 hits with only five of the nine runs being earned.

Both Endicott and Gordon return to action over the weekend as the Gulls host Regis College for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch with the Pride. Gordon will square-off with TCCC-leading Western New England on the same day.
