Field Hockey Places Three On NFHCA All-Region Teams

2024 NFHCA ALL-REGION TEAMS | GULLS' ALL-REGION HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.)Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.), and Maddy Young (Hingham, Mass.) have all earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region accolades.

Swanson was named to the NCAA Division III Region I First Team, while Minickene and Young represented the Gulls on the Second Team, respectively.

This is the eighth consecutive year Endicott has placed three or more on the All-Region teams.


FIRST TEAM ALL-REGION

TORI SWANSON | JR. | F | FARMINGTON, CONN.

Swanson's second consecutive first team all-region selection comes after her stellar 2024 season for the Gulls in which she was named the CNE Offensive Player of the Year and All-CNE First Team. In 18 games for Endicott, Swanson posted career highs in both goals (29) and points (63) along with posting her 100th career point in the Gulls' 7-1 victory over Nichols on 9/28. Swanson's 29 goals are tied for most in a single season and her 63 points ranks second in a season. Nationally, the junior finished the season ranked first in both points per game with 3.50 and and also goals per game with 1.61. Swanson scored a goal in 17 of 18 games this season and eight games with two or more including four goals in a 4-1 victory over then nationally ranked No. 13 MIT. The Farmington, Conn. native was part of an Endicott offense that ranked nationally 3rd in goals per game (4.26), 3rd in scoring average (4.26), 4th in points per game (11.00), and 10th in assists per game (2.47).


SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

FAITH MINICKENE | FR. | GK | MADISON, CONN.

Minickene earns her first career all-region selection after a 2024 season in which she was named CNE Goalie of the Year along with being on the All-CNE First Team. The freshman compiled a 1.66 GAA, 113 saves, a .850 save percentage, and a 11-2 record in 13 starts for the Gulls. The CNE Goalie of the Year finished the year ranked seventh nationally and first in the conference in save percentage. This season the Madison, Conn. native recorded five games with 10 or more saves including a 26 save performance against now seven time defending nationally champions, Middlebury which ranks second all-time in program history. Minickene is the first freshman since Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) to be named to an all-region team.

MADDY YOUNG | SR. | M | HINGHAM, MASS.

Young claims her first career all-region selection after a season in which she was named CNE Defensive Player of the Year and was a member of the All-CNE First Team. The Hingham, Mass. native finished the year with 11 defensive saves along with five points (one goal and three assists). Young's 11 defensive saves are the most in a single-season and she finished seventh nationally in the category. The CNE Defensive Player of the Year finished her career tied for third all-time in defensive saves with 12. She also was part of a defensive unit that finished second in the conference in goals-against average with 1.68 as they recorded six shutouts throughout the season. During the season, the senior scored her first career goal in a victory over Wellesley and set career highs for assists and points.


YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 14-5 overall record and a 5-0 mark in league play en route to the number one seed in the CNE Tournament.

The Gulls finished the season in the semifinals of the CNE tourament as they fell to UNE, 3-2.
