WATERVILLE, Maine — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Colby, 3-1, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Bill Alfond Field.
After a scoreless first 15 minutes, Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) got the scoring started after she took the ball from midfield and slotted it home for her 21st tally of the season.
Then with just over a minute left before halftime Meg Arnette (Merrimac, Mass.) doubled the Gulls lead as Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) found her in front of the goal.
The Endicott defense kept Colby off the scoreboard until early in the fourth quarter, as the Mules made it 2-1 with 11:43 to play. Swanson scored her second of the game to off a Brooke Yabroudy (Nashua, N.H.) feed with just under six minutes to play to secure the victory as the Gulls took a 3-1 lead.
In goal, Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) made 16 saves in the victory as her record improves to 8-1.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This was Endicott's first win against Colby all-time, moving the all-time series to 1-3.
- Eighth game-winner of the season for Swanson.
- First goal of the season for Arnette.
- Endicott's road record this season impoves to 6-2.

Endicott (11-4) visits Trinity (Conn.) on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 PM. Colby (7-6) heads to No. 11 Wesleyan on Saturday, October 26 at 12 PM.
