BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athlete Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) has collected Conference of New England's (CNE) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Minickene led the Gulls to their two wins with a 2-0 record. The freshman recorded 22 saves (.957 save percentage) and a 0.50 gaa (goals against average) in 120 minutes of action.
On Wednesday in the 5-0 victory, the freshman made six saves and recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
Followed that up against Colby by stopping 16 shots (.941 save percentage). 11 of the 16 saves came in second half to help stifle the Mules' potential comeback attempt.
This is Minickene's second time this season receiving rookie of the week honors (9/23).
