Field Hockey Bests Nichols 7-1 on Homecoming

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team handily defeated Nichols, 7-1, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) homecoming matchup at North Field.

It was all Gulls from the jump, as Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) tallied a quick two goals in the first 10 minutes of play.

Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) put a third on the board for the Blue and Green before the first quarter came to a close, as she tucked away the feed from Natalia Correia (Tyngsboro, Mass.).

In the second, Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.), Swanson, and Grace Gervais (Andover, Mass.) padded the lead with another three tallies for the Gulls prior to the conclusion of the first half.

After a scoreless third quarter of play, Emma Wilichoski (Danvers, Mass.) potted her third goal in the last two games, boosting the lead to 7-0.

Nichols got on the board in the 54th minute to break up the shutout, but the contest was decided long before that point.

Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) made the start in net and held the Bison to a scoreless first half with two saves. Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) came in to hold the Bison to a scoreless third quarter, and Caroline Harvey (Dover, Mass.) made a save in the final quarter to close out the win.
