CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 2 Endicott Pulls Away From No. 3 Western New England, 24-12

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team doubled up Western New England, 24-12, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinal round on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.

Morgan Pike (Shapleigh, Maine) led all scorers with six goals on eight shots (2-for-3 free position).

The Gulls also saw Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) compile four goals, while Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.), and Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.) all recorded hat tricks to highlight the rest of the attack.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) notched all seven of her saves in the second half to help seal the win for the Gulls.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott only led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter but outscored Western New England 12-4 over the next two quarters to run away with the victory.
  • Katie Wagner (Brewster, N.Y.) dished out a game-high four assists on the night giving her six games this season with four or more assists.
  • The Gulls did not allow an assisted goal (fifth time this season; second for Western New England).
  • Pike (6g), Napolitano (3g-2a), Wagner (1g-4a), Garvin (3g-2a), and Palermo (4g-1a) all finished with five or more points.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-6) will play first-seeded Roger Williams in the CCC Championship on the road at 12 PM on Saturday, May 7. Western New England sees its season come to a close at 13-6 overall.
