Women's Lacrosse Breezes By UNE, 18-1, In CCC Opener

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 18-1, on Wednesday evening in its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) season opener at UNE Blue Bolt Field. 

Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) led all scorers with a career-high (tied) four goals on five shots. 

Meanwhile, Morgan Pike (Shapleigh, Maine) recorded a hat trick, while Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.), Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.), and Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.) all notched two goals apiece to highlight the rest of the attack.

In goal, Kaitlin Bressette (Annadale, N.J.) made her first appearance for the Gulls after intermission, and only allowed one goal while turning away three shots. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • After losing the first six meetings in the all-time series, the Gulls have won 21 straight over the Nor'easters (21-6 all-time) 
  • Emily Typrowicz (Palos Verdes, Calif.) netted her first colligate goal in the win. 
  • Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) scored the first tally of her sophomore campaign (sixth career). 
  • Endicott scored 12 unanswered goals (8:47 of the first to 12:25 of the third).

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (4-3, 1-0 CCC) hosts Colby College on Sunday, April 3 at 2 PM. UNE (1-8, 0-2 CCC) travels to Nichols College on Saturday, April 2 at 1 PM.
