Women’s Lacrosse Upends MIT In Home Opener, 16-3

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated MIT, 16-3, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) highlighted the Gulls via a game-high four goals, five draw controls, and three ground balls.

Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.) and Morgan Pike (Shapleigh, Maine) also contributed hat tricks to the offensive outburst, while Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.) notched a team-high five points (2G, 3A).

Endicott also received a pair of tallies from Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) and solo strikes via Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), and Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.) in the victory.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped nine shots to improve to 2-0 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 9-5 all-time against MIT (winners of four straight).
  • Endicott is 3-0 in its last three home openers.
  • The Gulls started the game on a 5-0 run and ended it with a 6-0 spurt.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (2-0) hosts Springfield on Saturday, March 12 at 12 PM. MIT (1-1) travels to Roger Williams this Saturday at 1 PM.
