No. 9 Tufts Tops Women’s Lacrosse, 19-8

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to No. 9 nationally ranked Tufts University, 19-8, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) led the Gulls with a hat-trick.

Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) and Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.) also scored twice, respectively, while Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) found the back of the net once to round out the scoring for Endicott.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped a career-high 12 shots in the loss (3-1).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Jumbos produced three 3-0 runs throughout the contest.
  • Endicott saw its three-game winning streak come to end.
  • Tufts, who is ranked No. 9 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, improved to 1-1 on the road this season.

Endicott (3-1) visits No. 11 Wesleyan (Conn.) on Sunday, March 20 at 2 PM. No. 9 Tufts (2-1) hosts Chicago on Saturday, March 19 at 1 PM.
