SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team took down Western New England, 17-13, in conference action on Saturday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.
Trailing 11-10 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Gulls produced a 5-0 run (14-11) from 14:13 to 9:19 to eventually come away with the victory.
Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) led all scorers with six tallies on 10 shots. Two of her goals came during the 5-0 run in the fourth (11-11, 11:49 | 13-11, 10:56).
Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) also recorded four scores, while Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) notched a hat trick to highlight the rest of the attack.
In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) turned away eight shots en route to her eighth victory of the season (8-5).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 21-6 in the all-time series over Western New England (six straight wins).
- Palermo's six goals serve as a new career-high (previously four).
- The Blue and Green outscored the Golden Bears 8-2 in the fourth quarter and 10-5 in the second half overall.
