BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Roger Williams, 71-47, on Thursday night in the Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament semifinal round at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) poured in a career-high 26 points (10-22 FG, 2-6 3PT, 4-7 FT) alongside nine assists and four rebounds.
Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) recorded her eighth double-double of the season via 16 points (7-13 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-2 FT) and 14 rebounds. Dempsey also notched a game-high four steals.
Libby Fleming (Bangor, Maine) contributed 10 points (2-4 FG, 6-7 FT) and six rebounds, while Tricia Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) added six points (3-5 FG), six boards, and a steal to the victory.
Trailing 13-10 with 4:29 remaining in the first quarter, Endicott manufactured a 16-5 run to close out the opening period and never looked back in the matchup.
Shinney and Dempsey spearheaded the run with 10 and six points apiece.
From there, the Gulls' advantage did not drop below seven points (32-25, 4:56) for the remainder of the half, eventually heading into the locker room up 42-27.
Endicott led by as many as 26 points (4th, 71-45) before the final buzzer sounded (led for 33:32 total in the contest).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott improved to 11-2 at home this season.
- Shinney's previous career-high for points was 25 (Gordon, 2/17/24; Suffolk, 12/10/24).
- The Gulls are undefeated this season when Dempsey registers a double-double.
- Dempsey moved into first place all-time on the career rebounding leaderboard; the senior forward needed two rebounds to break the record coming into the game (917 total; surpassed Saran Dunfey, 904 rebounds, 1997-01).
- Endicott held Roger Williams to a season-low 29.9 field goal percentage.
- Tonight's matchup featured just one tie and three lead changes.
- The Gulls' 21 wins this season rank second all-time in program history (23-6, 2008-09; 23-7, 2013-14).
- The Blue and Green expanded its win streak to 12 (longest since 2008-09; 14 games).

- Endicott outscored Roger Williams 26-14 in the paint and 9-3 off turnovers.

- Dempsey filled the stat sheet with 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds (one offensive), and two steals.
