SEASON PREVIEW: Women's Basketball Ranked Third In CNE Preseason Poll

CNE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the 2024-25 Conference of New England (CNE) preseason poll. Here's an inside look at the upcoming season for the Gulls, which tips off from MacDonald Gymnasium at 7:00 PM next Wednesday, November 13 against Springfield.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Head Coach Jamie Insel gears up for her first season in blue and green. She takes over as the eighth Head Coach of the Endicott women's basketball program, having previously coached at Boston University (2023-24), Dartmouth College (2022-23), Tufts University (2019-22), Colby College (2017-19), and MIT (2014-17). Insel is assisted by Ella Thompson, who recently graduated from Bentley University as a former NE-10 All-Conference guard.
  • The Gulls return 11 players from last year's squad, including reigning All-CCC First Teamer Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) and reigning CCC Rookie of the Year / Third Teamer Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.).
  • Dempsey (1,301 career points) currently sits just 259 points away from Melissa Tarpy '98's program record 1,560.
  • The Blue and Green ushered in a freshman class of seven student-athletes, its largest recruiting class since the '21-22 season (eight).
