UTICA, N.Y. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated SUNY Poly, 3-1, by set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, and 25-20 on Saturday evening at the Wildcat Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Gulls locked up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NEVC Tournament.
Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) fueled the Gulls with a match-high/career-high 23 kills on 42 attempts (.476) and eight digs.
Corey Klass Jr. (Beverly, Mass.) compiled 14 kills (.393) and five blocks (three solo), while Jackson Gray (Glenmont, N.Y.) and Alexei Kraytman (Waltham, Mass.) chipped in with eight kills apiece (.538/.250).
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) ran the offense via 51 assists (.468) and Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) highlighted the defense with a team-high 10 digs.
Today's match featured 32 ties (12-10-8-2) and 14 lead changes (4-4-6-0).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 8-0 all-time against SUNY Poly (five shutouts).
- Iacovelli went a perfect 39-for-39 on serve-receive.
- Kraytman registered a new career-high for kills.
- The Gulls posted a staggering .553 hitting percentage (22K-1E-38TA) after dropping the third set.

Endicott (12-11, 4-2 NEVC) hosts Sage in an NEVC Tournament First Round matchup on Wednesday, April 9 at 7 PM. SUNY Poly (18-13, 3-3 NEVC) takes on Bard in the NEVC Tournament next Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
