BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Emerson, 3-1, by scores 25-11, 25-27, 25-16, and 25-21 in non-conference action on Tuesday night.
Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) powered the Gulls with a match-high 15 kills (.353) and seven digs (tied team-high).
Corey Klass Jr. (Beverly, Mass.) filled the stat sheet with 11 kills (.476), four digs, and three block assists.
Jackson Gray (Glenmont, N.Y.), Tyler Dolan (Harrington Park, N.J.), and Thomas Matchett (North Smithfield, R.I.) registered five kills apiece, all while hitting over .500 for the match (.667, .625, .571).
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) facilitated the offense via a match-high 33 assists (63 attempts, 0 errors, .524).
Tonight's match featured 19 ties (0-9-3-7) and seven lead changes (0-4-1-2).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott leads the all-time series, 9-1 (winners of four straight, 4-0 on road).
- The Gulls posted a first-set season-best .579 hitting percentage tonight (.455 previous high).
- Iacovelli has recorded 12 or more kills in four straight matches (season-high 15 tonight).
- Luke Madson (Nazareth, Pa.) and Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) tied for the team-high in digs with seven apiece (Battista: 9-9 serve-receive).
- Dolan and Colin Heath (Clifton Park, N.Y.) played in their first career match.
- George Chapell '08 earned his 214th career victory, tying him for the most wins as a head coach in program history.
