Frazao's Brace Leads Men's Soccer In Shutout Over Roger Williams, 2-0

Frazao's Brace Leads Men's Soccer In Shutout Over Roger Williams, 2-0

BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott men's soccer team knocked off Roger Williams, 2-0, in Tuesday night's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup at Bayside Field courtesy of another multi-goal game from Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.).

The Gulls grabbed their first in the ninth minute, as Frazao beat the Hawks inside the box and got his head to a lofted ball from Fisher Mills (Ridgefield, Conn.), heading it past the Hawks goalkeeper and into the far side netting.

The score held at 1-0 through the end of the first stanza. With just over eight minutes remaining in the first half, the Hawks set up a transition opportunity and found an opening for the potential equalizer from the right wing, but Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) dove to his left and made an outstanding sprawling save to keep the hosts off the board.

In the second half, the Blue and Green found Frazao up top once more to make it a 2-0 contest. Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland) started the break from the backfield with a beautiful ball sent up to Sam Cochran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) on the left wing, who then flicked on a header to Frazao, setting up the smoothe insurance goal.

From there, the defense controlled the rest of the matchup. The back line of Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.), Hayden Laske (Wethersfield, Conn.), Carter McCoy (Monroe, Conn.), and Krysztoforski thwarted any opportunities the Hawks could muster in the shutout victory.

O'Toole scooped up five saves and improved his record to 6-1-1 on the season via his sixth shutout.
