Men's Soccer Routs Hartford, 5-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott men's soccer team opened the 2024 Conference of New England (CNE) slate with a lopsided 5-0 win at Hartford on Saturday afternoon.

The Gulls started the scoring early thanks to Tiago Frazao's (Trumbull, Conn.) third minute tally off of Max Karkos' (Wethersfield, Conn.) cross.

Frazao struck again in the 21st, as he potted his second of the game (third of the season) off of a Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland) feed from the left side, sending it home with a one-touch finish.

The first half action didn't stop there, as Karkos tucked his first goal of the season in the 36th minute of play, which put the Blue and Green up three scores heading to the break.

In the second, the Gulls added two more to the total. Sam Cochran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) converted a penalty kick attempt in the 67th minute for his first career goal, and Kyle Montalvo (Smithtown, N.Y.) padded the lead with his first career tally in the 87th.

Freshman Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) made his first career start in net and collected three saves in the shutout effort.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • This is the second meeting all-time between the two programs. The Gulls won the first matchup, 4-0, last season at Hempstead Stadium (10/13/23).
  • Fourth career two-goal game for Frazao.
  • The Gulls defense limited the Hawks to just four total shots.
  • The Hawks were handed a red card for a handball in the box prior to Cochran's penalty kick goal.
  • Highest scoring output for the Blue and Green since 10/20/21 (6-0 win vs. UNE).
