Cochran's Hat Trick, Foley's Brace Lead Men's Soccer Past Curry, 5-0

Cochran's Hat Trick, Foley's Brace Lead Men's Soccer Past Curry, 5-0

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team breezed past Curry College, 5-0, in Friday night's Conference of New England (CNE) contest at Walter M. Katz Field.

The Gulls hopped out to a quick 1-0 advantage just 1:52 into the first half, as freshman forward Sam Cochran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) blasted one off of his left foot from about 30 yards out to put the visitors on the board.

He quickly found a second goal about 20 minutes later, as he potted a penalty kick attempt in the 24th minute.

Endicott added another prior to the half off the foot of Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.), who followed up his own shot attempt and trickled one just past the Curry back line to register his first goal of the season.

Some swift goalkeeping from Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) kept the Colonels off the board and sent the Gulls to half with a 3-0 lead. The freshman keeper scooped up four saves in his third career start (second shutout).

Following the break, Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) set up Foley for another, as he drilled his second of the contest from the top of the box in the 50th minute.

Cochran then potted his third of the night off of Joe Cusack's (Foxboro, Mass.) feed in the 68th minute, sending in a one-timer for the finish.

The recently dominant Endicott defense solidified the win with a shut-down second half, limiting the Colonels to just four shots (one on net) in the final 45 minutes of play.

  • The Gulls move to 23-3-1 in the all-time series against the Colonels.
