Men's Soccer Trumps Keene State, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Keene State, 3-0, in Saturday afternoon non-conference action at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls got some early offense in the fourth minute thanks to Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.), who potted a one-timer off of Cole Fergusson's (South Salem, N.Y.) redirect in the box.

Just a few minutes later, Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) and Fergusson set up a shot in transition for Matt Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.), who sent one into the lower left side netting to give the Gulls a 2-0 advantage (10').

The Blue and Green piled on some insurance right before the close of the half, as freshman forward Jake Pezza (North Kingstown, R.I.) beat the Owls' keeper to a through ball from Peyton Luther (Ledyard, Conn.) and tapped it home for his first career goal.

Endicott's defense was air-tight once again in the second half, as they broke up every Keene State opportunity and closed out the impressive 3-0 win. Michael McDonough (Dedham, Mass.) picked up his first career win in the strong defensive showing.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls now hold the edge in the all-time series with a 3-0 record. They have outscored the Owls 10-3 in the three meetings.
