Men's Soccer Takes Down Wentworth, 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team prevailed, 2-0, over Wentworth on the back of two early goals in Saturday evening's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup at Hempstead Stadium.

Aidan Sheehan (Arlington, Mass.) delivered a corner kick pass that found the head of Carter McCoy (Monroe, Conn.) to open the scoring just three minutes into the game.

The Gulls added another goal 11 minutes later, when Max Karkos (Wethersfield, Conn.) found space inside the box and set up a wide-open Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) for a tap-in at the back post to make it 2-0 in favor of the hosts.

Endicott ended off the half outshooting the visitors, 13-2, entering the break with a two-goal advantage.

A back-and-forth second half resulted in 11 shots between the two teams (seven Endicott, four Wentworth), but none found the back of the net for either squad. A strong defensive performance from the Endicott backline preserved the shutout and the 2-0 home win.

Endicott goalkeeper Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) recorded two saves and saw his record improve to 4-1 on the season.
