BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott freshman Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week accolades, as announced by the league office.
Barker had a strong showing at the X in his three-game CCC Tournament appearances over the last two weeks.
He went 48-for 78 (61.5 percent) at the faceoff X and collected 35 ground balls. In the CCC Quarterfinals against No. 7 seed Curry, Barker won eight of 18 faceoffs and scooped up five ground balls.
Barker followed that up with a career-best performance, winning 25 of 28 faceoffs and grabbing 22 ground balls against No. 4 seed Roger Williams in the semifinals.
Both marks are the second-most all-time in Gulls' program history.
Finally, he went 15-for-32 on faceoffs with 22 ground balls in the CCC Championship game against No. 1 seed Western New England.
Barker also had a goal in each contest and added an assist against Roger Williams.
This is Barker's first career CCC Rookie of the Week award and fourth career weekly honor.
