BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's lacrosse student-athletes James Loughran (Cos Cob, Conn.) and Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Loughran was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, while Barker earned his second career Specialist of the Week award.

Last week for the Gulls (4/18-24), Loughran helped Endicott to two CCC wins holding Curry and Nichols to a combined 10 goals.

First, in an 11-6 victory over the Colonels, Loughran collected six ground balls and caused two turnovers. He continued his strong defensive week in a 24-4 win over the Bison in which he added four more ground balls and a caused turnover.

For the week, Loughran registered 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Meanwhile, Barker went 25-for-39 (64.1 percent) at the faceoff X for the Gulls. Barker also collected 14 ground balls over the two contests.

He started the week by winning 11 of 20 faceoff chances in an 11-6 win over Curry. He also grabbed his first seven ground balls of the week against the Colonels.

Barker followed that up with a 14-for-19 showing on faceoff attempts with seven more ground balls in a 24-4 win over Nichols.
