Nichols Tops Women's Basketball, 76-67

DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team fell to Nichols College, 76-67, in conference action on Wednesday night at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Coming out of the half, the Gulls trailed by just one point, 37-36, but the Bison pulled away late in the third quarter via a 10-0 run. The offensive spurt, which began at the 2:01 mark of the third, carried over into the fourth quarter (9:02, 63-53), and the Bison never looked back from there.

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) led the offensive output for the Gulls with 13 points and 16 rebounds. 

Lexi Gellerman (West Hartford, Conn.) also poured in 13 points, while Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) notched 11 points to round out Endicott's double-digit scorers. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Despite the loss, Endicott holds the all-time series lead over Nichols, 30-6. 
  • The matchup featured nine lead changes and two ties.
  • The Gulls are 8-4 on the road this season. 
  • Dempsey recorded the 14th double-double of her collegiate career. 
  • Olivia Duncan (Essex Junction, Vt.) grabbed 12 rebounds (one shy of tying her career-high).

Endicott (15-9, 12-5 CCC) hosts Suffolk on Saturday, February 18th at 1 PM. Nichols (9-15, 5-12 CCC) travels to Curry this Saturday at 1 PM.
