Women's Basketball Edged By Undefeated No. 22 Roger Williams, 57-56

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team fell to undefeated No. 22 nationally ranked Roger Williams, 57-56, on Wednesday evening in a tightly contested conference matchup on Wednesday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium.  

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) led all scorers on the night with a career-high 28 points and 10 rebounds for her eighth consecutive double-double of the season.

Taylor Bogdanski (Saugus, Mass.) also broke double-digit points (11) in the scoring column, while Libby Fleming (Bangor, Maine) contributed 9-6 (PTS/RBS), respectively.

The Gulls led for the majority of the game (27:36), but Roger Williams outscored Endicott, 11-4, in the fourth quarter to steal the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Despite the loss, Endicott still leads the all-time series against Roger Williams, 22-19. 
  • The largest lead of the night was 11 points (Endicott, 44-33, Q3 l 06:48).
  • Conversely, Roger Williams' largest lead of the matchup was only three points (twice in the 4th, 9:27 of the 1st).
  • Dempsey notched the 10th double-double of her collegiate career. 
  • The Hawks (14-0, program record) have not lost a game since February 27, 2020 (CCC Semifinals loss to Endicott, 60-54).
