BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Endicott women's basketball team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 55-43, in conference action on Tuesday evening.
Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) highlighted the Gulls with a game-high 18 points (7-16 FG, 45 FT), 17 rebounds (game-high), three blocks, and one steal.
Dempsey now has 12 career double-doubles, which includes a string of 10 straight dating back to December 11, 2021.
Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) and Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) also scored in double-figures (13-11), while Olivia Duncan (Essex Junction, Vt.) contributed six points and 11 rebounds in the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls held UNE to its lowest field goal percentage (.235) and second-lowest scoring total on the season.
- Tonight's game only featured four lead changes and five ties.
- Endicott led by as many as 15 points (47-32) in the fourth quarter (2:14).
- Conversely, UNE's highest advantage on the night was just three points (11-8, 1:19, first quarter).
- Leading 20-18 with 4:47 in the second quarter, the Gulls closed out the first half with a 7-1 run to take a 27-19 lead into the break.
- Endicott outscored the Nor'easters 10-3 in the third and never looked back.
- UNE's last lead in the contest came with 52-seconds left in the first (11-10).

Endicott (10-7, 7-3 CCC) hosts Western New England on Thursday, January 27 at 7:30 PM. UNE (9-8, 7-3 CCC) travels to Salve Regina on Saturday, January 29 at 1 PM.
