Laugeni, Dempsey Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott student-athletes Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) have swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Laugeni earned CCC Player of the Week honors, while Dempsey received the CCC Rookie of the Week award.

In a 2-0 (2-0 CCC) week for the Gulls (1/10-16), Laugeni averaged a double-double with 25.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Laugeni opened the week with a program record 37 points in an 84-68 victory over Nichols. Laugeni also had 16 rebounds against the Bison. Laugeni followed that up with 13 points and nine boards in a 64-60 comeback win over Suffolk. In addition to her scoring and rebounding numbers, Laugeni also averaged 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game.

This is Laugeni's second career CCC Player of the Week award.

Meanwhile, Dempsey averaged 22.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game last week.

Dempsey opened the week with 26 points and 14 rebounds in an 84-68 win against Nichols. Dempsey followed that up with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-60 win against Suffolk. Dempsey also averaged 2.5 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game during the week.

This is Dempsey's second career CCC Rookie of the Week honor.
