Wesleyan Surges Past Endicott, 74-66

BABSON PARK, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team fell to Wesleyan (Conn.), 74-66, on Friday afternoon in the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament, hosted by Babson College.

Freshman forward Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) poured in a career-high 25 points (10-20 FG, 1-1 3PT, 4-5 FT) alongside 12 rebounds, four assists, and a steal to highlight the Gulls.

Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) also notched 15 points, while Olivia Duncan (Essex Junction, Vt.) and Ariana Silvia (Falmouth, Mass.) contributed eight and seven points, respectively.

Tied 58-58 with 6:56 left to play, Wesleyan put together a 16-8 run down the stretch to come away with the win, its second in as many games.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's game featured 11 lead changes and three ties.
  • Endicott led by as many as eight points (27-19) with 7:24 remaining in the second quarter and entered the fourth quarter up 54-50.
  • The largest advantage by any team in the contest was only eight points (Wesleyan, 72-64, 00:35, 4th).
  • Dempsey recorded her fifth career double-double.
  • Laugeni notched her fourth straight game with 10 or more points.
  • Wesleyan is 3-1 in neutral site games this season.
