BEVERLY, Mass. - It took just 49 minutes for the Endicott College women's volleyball team to notch win number 16 of the season, as the Gulls downed visiting Anna Maria College, 3-0, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference match-up on Tuesday night in Beverly, Mass. Endicott is now 16-12 overall and a perfect 7-0 in TCCC play while the Amcats slip to 2-14 and 0-8 in conference action.

A 7-0 serving run by the Gulls' Casey Ward (Monroe, Conn.) helped fuel a decisive 25-6 win in set one. With no real let-up in sight, Endicott fired off a commanding 10-2 lead in set two, eventually winning 25-9. Shannon Belfanti (Ridgefield, Conn.) dropped in consecutive services aces in six-point run in the middle of set three, helping seal the sweep for the Gulls, 25-13.

Anna Maria was paced by Marcia McCoy (Hudson, Mass.) and her two kills on 11 attempts. Senior setter Jacqueline Laham (Westwood, Mass.) had all six of the visitor's assists and also notched six digs in the losing effort. Nicole Phinney (Westminster, Mass.) and Nichole Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) each had seven digs for the Amcats.

Endicott was led by Casey Ward and Ali Canty's (Moraga, Calif.) five kills. Ward also notched 11 assists and five aces in the win. Amy Grigg (Vernon, Conn.) and Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) posted four kills apiece while Morgan Knees (Newtown, Conn.) had three kills and five assists. Endicott's Ally Murphy (Gilford, N.H.) registered eight assists and Belfanti ended the night with five aces.

Endicott returns to action on Friday evening as the Gulls host Millikin to kick-off Homecoming Weekend. Match time is slated for 6:00 p.m. in Beverly, Massachusetts.
