BOSTON, Mass. - The Endicott women's volleyball team won its sixth-straight match on Tuesday night, swinging its way past the Wentworth Institute of Technology for an all important TCCC win in Boston, Massachusetts. The Gulls posted set scores of 25-11, 25-9, and 25-10 in the dominating conference victory.
Endicott was led by the standout play of its three middle blockers, as Hayley Janelle (Madbury, N.H.), Amy Grigg (Vernon, Conn.) and Morgan Knees (Newtown, Conn.) outmatched the Leopards upfront. Janelle posted six kills on eight attempts in only two sets, while Amy Grigg had five kills on only nine swings for the Blue and Green. Freshman Morgan Knees saw action in one set, connecting on two kills on two attempts while also notching three solo blocks.
Back-to-back-to-back TCCC Libero of the Week Brittany Nolan (Monroe, Conn.) had 10 digs while classmate Casey Ward (Monroe, Conn.) handed out 15 assists. Junior outside Steph Wiese (Higganum, Conn.) had six of the Gulls' 15 total aces.
With the win, Endicott is now 8-1 overall and 3-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls return to action on Thursday as they step out of conference play to square-off with the Judges of Brandeis University. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Waltham, Mass.
