BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College women's volleyball team notched a pair of wins on Wednesday night, sweeping both non-conference and local rival Salem State and TCCC foe Western New England College. The Gulls fired past the Vikings, 25-7, 25-15 and 25-17, and then made short work of the Golden Bears, 25-16, 25-14, and 25-20. Endicott is now 15-8 overall and a perfect 6-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The Blue and Green were dominant against Salem State College to open the two-match night. Brittany Phillips (Sudbury, Mass.) and Hayley Janelle (Madbury, N.H.) led the way upfront for the Gulls against the Vikings, as Phillips notched eight kills and Janelle posted seven in the win. Casey Ward (Monroe, Conn.) and Ally Murphy (Gilford, N.H.) had 12 and 10 assists, respectively, while Sarah Richardson (Laconia, N.H.) accounted for 14 digs. The Gulls notched 14 service aces against the Vikings.

In the second match of the night, Endicott hosted conference opponent Western New England College. The Golden Bears simply could not generate any offense against the Gulls, as the Blue and Green posted 10 total team blocks in the victory. Morgan Knees (Newtown, Conn.) had a monster night at the Endicott net, blocking two solo and six assisted to lead the Gulls. Steph Wiese (Higganum, Conn.) finished the match with 11 kills and nine digs while Phillips and Janelle ended the night with eight and six. Brittany Nolan (Monroe, Conn.) had 15 digs to go along with two service aces in the win.

The wins mark No. 14 & 15 of the season for the Gulls. Endicott will now turn its attention to a weekend tournament in St. Louis, Missouri where the Gulls will battle with defending NCAA Division III National Champion Washington University on Friday evening.
