WALTHAM, MA - The Endicott College women's volleyball team took two wins in the first day of the Brandeis University Judge's Classic Friday night. The Gulls beat Plymouth State and St. Joseph's in three games to kick off the invitational tournament.
EC cruised to victories in the first two games against Plymouth State, taking 30-18 and 30-14 wins, however the Gulls had to battle back from a 10-2 deficit to win the third game 30-24. Sara Moore had 14 kills and three blocks, Hayley Janelle had six kills and eight blocks while Meghan Hall had 30 assists and Brittany Nolan racked up 19 digs. Katelyn Smith had a team high six aces against the Panthers.
The second match saw a variety of lineups from the Gulls. Lauren Lundstrom led the team with 10 kills in 13 attempts followed by Janelle and Kim Marschner's 6 kills. Casey Ward ran the offense well, dishing out 28 assists and Libero, Hall led the team with eight aces and eight digs.
The Gulls return to action in the second day of the Judge's Classic where they will see a potential CCC Championship match preview when they take the court against rivals Gordon College. The Gulls will be the top seed in the CCC Tournament, while Gordon will be the number two seed. The CCC Tournament begins Tuesday night when the EC hosts Wentworth.
