BEVERLY, MA - Coming of two big wins over Keene State and Salve Regina the Endicott College Gulls are quickly moving in the right direction, despite losing to Tufts University 3-1 on Tuesday night. EC once again thrived on the play of Meghan Hall (Santa Cruz, CA), the junior setter had 37 assists and four aces in four games against the Jumbos.
Despite the play of Hall the Gulls were unable to hold off perennial New England power Tufts. EC certainly made things interesting after losing the first two games 30-22 and 30-24 the Gulls dominated the third game 30-13 and narrowly missed forcing a fifth game as they were just edged by the Jumbos 31-29 in the fourth game of the match.
EC also got solid performances from Steph Wiese (Higganum, CT), who led the team in kills with 11 and added 12 digs to the effort. Beth Dow (Pocasset, MA) had an ace and three digs to go along with 10 kills, while Brittany Nolan (Monroe, CT) had 22 digs to lead the Gulls.
Endicott is 2-7 on the season, they will head to Boston to take on Emmanuel Thursday before returning home Saturday for two games with Wentworth and the University of New England.
