BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College women's volleyball team earned the top ranking in the Commonwealth Coast Conference preseason coaches' poll. The Gulls are coming off a 23-15 season in 2005 that included an impressive 8-1 conference record as well as a trip to the CCC finals.
EC sits atop the poll, which was released Friday, receiving 94 points and four first place votes. Defending CCC champions Colby-Sawyer received 87 points, five first place votes, and are ranked second behind the top seeded Gulls.
The poll voted is on by the coaches of each of the conference's 10 teams. Gordon College is ranked third with 80 points, while Roger Williams is fourth with 73 (one first place vote) and Eastern Nazarene rounds out the top five with 59 points.
