WENHAM, Mass. - The Endicott College Gulls continued their perfect start to the season with a win over conference rival Gordon College by a score of 9-0 on Tuesday in TCCC action. The win moves the Gulls to a perfect 8-0 (6-0 TCCC) while dropping Gordon to 3-4 (3-3 TCCC).
In doubles play, Nicole Breting (Johnston, R.I.) and current TCCC Player of the Week Lori Wardner (Wrentham, Mass.) were able to stay unbeaten this year as they bested Kate Kirby (Orono, Maine) and Kristin Bollier (not listed), 8-6. The tandem of Kate Cioffi (Essex, Vt.) and Alyson Boehm (Lowell, Mass.) were able to win their match 8-3 against Heather Vicary (Old Towne, Maine) and Maggie Baldridge (Goshen, Ind.). The senior team of Jenna Carme (Greenfield, Mass.) and Kate Fiske (Westerly, R.I.) won in \#3 doubles against Lauren Stone (not listed) and Laura Baldwin (not listed) by a score of 8-2.
The Gulls continued to dominate in singles play as Breting, Wardner, Boehm, Fiske, and Carme were all able to win their matches in straight sets. Former TCCC Player and Rookie of the Week Kate Cioffi lost the first set of her matchup with Kate Kirby 1-6, but bounced back nicely to win 6-2, 10-2.
The Blue and Green return to action on Thursday as Rhode Island College comes to the campus for a non-conference tilt at 3:30 p.m. Gordon will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday to take on Western New England College in another TCCC matchup at 11:00 a.m.
