BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College softball team has been named the number one club in New England by the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches' Association Poll, which was released on Wednesday. The Gulls, who were previously ranked second, leap-frogged Wellesley College for the top spot.

Endicott improved to 11-2 on the season by sweeping a double header against Roger Williams University in their home opener on Tuesday. The Gulls won both games by the score of 6-1 behind the strong pitching performances of sophomore Maria Mangine and senior Jenn Elwell. The two wins improve the Blue and Green to 3-1 in the The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The Gulls will take on Regis College in a double header on Saturday held at the Endicott Softball Field in Beverly Mass. Game times are scheduled for 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.
