BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College sophomore Maria Mangine (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) has been honored as the TCCC Pitcher of the Week, compiling a 3-0 record in three starts for the Gulls last week at the Rebel Spring Games in Florida.
Maria threw three complete games, including a five-hit shutout in her first start of the season to defeat William Patterson University 3-0. In her next start, Mangine worked eight innings and gave up just six hits, as the Gulls topped Western Connecticut State University 2-1 in extra innings. She closed out her week tossing five innings against MCLA, cruising to an 11-2 victory. For the week Maria compiled a brilliant 0.70 ERA, while surrendering just 15 hits and 3 walks in 20 innings of work.
Endicott returns to the diamond Wednesday when it travels to Springfield, Mass. to take on the Golden Bears of Western New England College. Game time is schedule for 3 p.m.
