BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College senior Jenn Elwell (Tewksbury, Mass.) tossed a complete game shutout in the Gulls' season opener on Sunday, earning her the TCCC Pitcher of the Week Award.
Elwell surrendered just two hits over seven innings, retiring the last 17 batters in a row. She had excellent command of her pitches throughout the game, striking out five hitters without issuing a single walk. Elwell faced just two batters over the minimum while going the distance in the win.
Endicott returns to action Monday taking on William Patterson University at 3 p.m., before facing Illinois Wesleyan University at 5 p.m. later that evening. Both games will be held at Osceola Park in Osceola County, Fla.
