Softball ranked second in New England Poll

March 26, 2008

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College softball team has been voted the second-ranked squad in New England, this according to the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches' Association Poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon. Endicott, boasting an 8-1 overall record, is second only to undefeated Wellesley College (6-0-1).

The Blue and Green are off to one of their hottest starts in program history, as the Gulls won eight of nine on their annual spring trip to the Rebel Spring Games in Florida. Among those eight wins were crucial in-region victories over Western Connecticut (ranked 7th in the New England Poll) and William Paterson.

Endicott will open its The Commonwealth Coast Conference schedule on Thursday afternoon as the Gulls fly to Western Massachusetts for a showdown with TCCC newcomer Western New England College. Game times are slated for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. in Springfield.
