Trio of Gulls Named Joe Concannon Award Semifinalists

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's ice hockey student-athletes Kevin Craig (Hyannis, Mass.), Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.), and Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Nev.) have all been named semifinalists for the 23rd Joe Concannon Award. The award is presented annually to the best America-born NCAA Division II/III college hockey student-athlete in New England.

The Joe Concannon Award was established in 2001 shortly after the passing of the longtime writer for The Boston Globe who had a great passion for the game of college hockey while always advocating strongly for amateur athletics.

In total, 38 student-athletes were selected as semifinalists for the award — the largest field ever in the award's history.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) led all leagues with 10 student-athletes chosen as semifinalists. Endicott and Curry paced the conference and all NCAA Division III programs represented with three honorees.

KEVIN CRAIG | GR. | D

Craig was one of six defensemen selected as a semifinalist for the award. This is his first career honor.

The MBA student has compiled four goals (1 PPG) and seven assists for 11 points this season (22 games played).

He currently ranks second on the team and the CCC in plus-minus (+15).

As a team, the Gulls are positioned third in the conference in goals against average (1.95) and tied for 11th nationally in scoring defense (2.00).

ANDREW KURAPOV | SR. | F

Kurapov is the fourth student-athlete in program history to earn multiple Joe Concannon Award semifinalist nods (2022-23, 2023-24).

The senior forward has produced nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points this season (4 PPG, 2 GWG, +9, 22 GP).

Kurapov's CCC rankings include: 2nd in assists (2nd on team), 9th in goals (2nd on team), and 2nd in points (1st on team).

Nationally, Kurapov is 38th overall in assists (0.73) and points (1.14) per game.

JACKSON STERRETT | SR. | F

A first-time honoree, Sterrett sports an 11-10--21 line for the Gulls with a plus-5 rating in 22 games played this season.

Sterrett has scored three power play tallies, a team-high/league-best three game-winners, one game-tying goal, and registered a hat trick.

The senior forward is No. 14 nationally in game-winners and No. 50 in goals per game (0.50).
