BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 11 Endicott men's ice hockey team skated to a 4-4 tie against UMass Boston on Friday night at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink.
Trailing 4-3 late in the third period, Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta) buried the game-tying goal when he rifled a wrist shot directly off a faceoff win from the top of the right dot high blocker side for his fifth of the season.
Endicott entered the third period with a 3-2 advantage on the scoreboard, but the Beacons answered with tallies a 4:51 and 5:44 to put the visitors on their heels.
The back-and-forth contest also featured leads of 2-0 and 3-1 for the Gulls in the first and second periods, respectively.
Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) and Kevin Craig (Hyannis, Mass.) scored at 6:18 and 10:37 of the first, while Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.) notched a power play strike at 5:43 in the middle stanza.
In goal, Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) made 32 saves in the draw (2-1-3).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Tonight's contest was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
- Endicott is 4-1-2 when scoring first this season.
- The Gulls are 3-2-1 on the road.
- Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.) finished the night with two assists, including the primary tally on the game-tying goal, for his 94th and 95th career points.
- There are only four student-athletes in program history who have reached the 100-point plateau.

No. 11 Endicott (6-2-3) hosts Rivier tomorrow at 4 PM. UMass Boston (4-7-2) hosts Worcester State in the 58th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament on Friday, January 5 at 1 PM.
