Gulls Tie Golden Bears, 3-3; Sterrett Supplies Shootout Winner For Endicott

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's ice hockey team played to a 3-3 overtime draw against Western New England on Saturday night at the Olympia Ice Center.

Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.) scored the lone tally in the shootout to help Endicott secure two points in the standings. 

Sterrett beat Western New England's goalie five-hole on a backhander on the Gulls' fourth attempt of the night.

Collin Kleiser (Churchville, Pa.), Jimmy McIsaac (Winnipeg, Manitoba), and Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.) all scored in the tie. 

Kleiser knotted the game up at 1-1 in the first (16:11), while McIsaac and Mazur both scored in the second (3:08, PP — 12:13) to give Endicott leads of 2-1 and 3-2, at the time.

In goal, Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.) stopped 29 shots to move to 7-2-2 this season (18-5-2 all-time). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Kleiser potted his first collegiate tally.
  • Tonight's game marks the first tie in the all-time series (EC leads 18-1-1).
  • McIsaac registered his third career tally for the Gulls.
  • Mazur notched his 48th career goal and 108th career point (48-60—107).

Endicott (13-4-5, 10-2-3 CCC) visits the University of New England on Friday, February 9 at 7 PM. Western New England (4-15-3, 1-11-3 CCC) hosts Nichols next Friday at 8 PM.
