Sterrett Claims CCC Player Of The Week Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's ice hockey student-athlete Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Sterrett netted four tallies and one assist for five points in a 1-0-1 week for the No. 11 Gulls against No. 14 Salve Regina.

On Saturday, the senior forward generated his first career hat-trick by nailing a game-winner with 1.8 seconds remaining in the contest to defeat the Seahawks, 3-2, on the road. The game-winner was the fourth for the Hendersonville native.

Meanwhile, on Friday night Sterrett notched his second-career game-tying goal at the 10:31 mark of the third period on the power play to force overtime. He also had the lone assist of an Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) first-period tally that put the Gulls ahead 1-0 just 2:59 into the contest.

The Blue and Green eventually won the shootout, 2-1, to help with potential tiebreakers later in the winter.

This is Sterrett's first CCC weekly honor.
