Lemay Earns NFHCA All-America Honors

NFHCA RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott senior defender Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) has received National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-America Third Team honors, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Overall, 48 student-athletes earned NFHCA All-America Honors for their performances throughout the 2022 season. Only 11 defenders were selected among the three NFHCA All-America squads.

Lemay is the second defender in program history to claim NFHCA All-America honors joining Emylee Wood '18 (Kensington, N.H.) on the list.

In total, the Gulls' field hockey program has garnered 12 All-America award winners.

"Rachael has made such a huge impact on the success of this program both on and off the field throughout her career," said Endicott field hockey head coach Jodi Cipolla. "I'm so proud to have her honored with this recognition for her performance in our backfield. It's impossible to measure her impact with statistics, and to have her recognized among this distinguished group is a testament to her consistent standard of play and the hard work that she puts in on a daily basis.

Lemay anchored a defense that ranked No. 30 nationally in goals against average (GAA, 1.2), No. 6 in scoring margin (3.29), and No. 19 in shutouts per game (0.45, nine total) this season.

All three categories led the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

Endicott also ranked first in the CCC in total goals allowed (24), GAA in conference games (0.33), and goals allowed in conference games (tied, 2).

Today's announcement marks Lemay's fourth postseason honor this fall.

Her other year-end awards include NFHCA All-Region First Team accolades, CCC Defensive Player of the Year honors, and a selection to the All-CCC First Team.
