Field Hockey Tops Marywood, 5-1

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. —  The Endicott field hockey team defeated Marywood, 5-1, in non-conference action in the Betty Riche Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Weinberg Field. 

Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) scored twice in the win, while Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine), Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass), and Casey Halliday (Halliday, Conn.) all notched a goal of their own in the dominating 5-1 victory. 

Meanwhile, in cage, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) stifled five shots in her colligate debut. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The game served as the first matchup between the two schools in program history.
  • Hogan tallied the second multi-goal game of her collegiate career. 
  • Bruns recorded three points (1 goal, 1 assist) in her debut as a Gull.
  • Dengler and Halliday registered the first goal of their collegiate careers, respectively. 
  • The Gulls held a 15-8 advantage in shots over the Pacers. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-0) plays Vassar (1-0) on Sunday, September 4 at 2 PM. Maywood (0-2) plays Stevens tomorrow at 11:30 AM.
