Field Hockey Shuts Out Springfield, 8-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Springfield, 8-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday night at North Field.

Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) highlighted the offense with two goals and two assists.

Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) also contributed a hat trick in the victory, while Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) tallied two goals and one helper.

Meg Arnette (Merrimac, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with her first marker of the season at the 54:33 mark. 

Meanwhile, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) stopped two shots in the cage to improve to 6-2 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX

  • With the win, Endicott tied the all-time series against Springfield, 2-2.
  • The Gulls are 3-1 at The Nest this season.
  • Hogan leads the team in goals (9), assists (5, tied), and points (23).
  • Swanson registered her first career hat trick.
  • Dengler produced her first career multi-goal and multi-assist game in tonight's victory.

Endicott (7-2) hosts Salve Regina on Saturday, October 1 at 1 PM as part of Homecoming & Family Weekend. Springfield (2-6) welcomes Nichols to its campus on Sunday, October 2 at 1 PM.
