CCC SEMIFINALS: Endicott Outlasts Western New England, 5-3

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Western New England, 5-3, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals on Thursday night at North Field.

Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine) highlighted the Gulls' efforts with a hat trick (2:16, 6:24, 45:30).

Endicott also received tallies from Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) and Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) at 24:42 (3-0 lead) and 37:32 (4-1), respectively, in the victory.

In goal, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) made nine saves to improve to 14-4 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 26-6 in the all-time series.
  • Endicott has won 10 in a row versus the Golden Bears, dating back to 9/30/17.
  • Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.) registered her first defensive save of the season (fourth career).
  • Anslow's nine saves tonight are her third-most this fall (season-high 12)

WHAT'S NEXT

Second-seeded Endicott (15-4) takes on first-seeded University of New England in the CCC Championship on Saturday, November 5 in Biddeford, Maine at 1 PM.

Third-seeded Western New England sees its 2022 season come to a close at 11-6 overall.
