Lemay, Dengler Receive CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) and Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Lemay was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career, while Dengler garnered CCC Rookie of the Week honors for the third time in her career.

Last week for the Gulls, Lemay once again helped contribute to Endicott's dominant defensive effort as the Blue and Green went 2-0 this week.

The only goal the Gulls allowed last week came against No. 4 nationally ranked Tufts on a penalty stroke. Endicott came away with the 2-1 win in overtime against the Jumbos.

Lemay and her Gulls teammates then shut out Gordon in a CCC contest, denying the Fighting Scots the opportunity to put a shot on goal.

Meanwhile, Dengler only scored one goal for Endicott last week, but it was a big one. The first-year forward found the back of the cage in overtime to lift the Gulls to a 2-1 victory over No. 4 nationally ranked Tufts on Thursday (Oct. 6).

It was her eighth goal of the season, which ranks tied for third overall in the conference and tied for first overall among all rookies.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-2, 3-0 CCC) visits Worcester State on Thursday, October 13 at 7 PM.
